This wedding holds a very special place in my heart… my brother is the groom!  We traveled back to Waynesville, NC where I grew up to photograph & film Joey + Judy’s wedding.  Judy dreamed of a beautiful barn wedding with rustic details, and found the perfect venue for it!  There were many special details about the day– she wore red converse sneakers instead of high heels (which were a smart choice for a barn wedding!), had a picture of her dad tied to her bouquet, and incorporated their love for horses throughout.

Growing up with my brother, I have the advantage of knowing that he spent his whole childhood loving horses.  I never understood why he loved those gigantic things so much!  After graduation he moved into a place where he could work off his rent by working with the owners horses, and that’s been the theme over his life until he was able to save up enough and get some horses of his own.  He’s spent most of his adult life living less than 100 yards from a barn.  His oldest daughter is exactly the same way.  For every birthday or Christmas I knew all I had to do was buy something horse related and she would love it!  So to see Judy and her love for horses, it makes me so happy that they are able to share that love together!

There are kid-free weddings, and then there are kid-run weddings.  It’s always important to choose carefully, and Judy’s words were “I can’t wait for them to steal the show!”  With six kids between the two of them and eight kids under the age of 7 in the bridal party, it’s a good thing she was willing to share the spotlight!  And the children certainly didn’t disappoint.
