We like living life to the fullest
Brittany + Carl are the type of couple that you can just feel the love when you walk in a room. They love each other, have a zeal for life (and travel!), and have a joy that is just infectious. Everything felt laid back, but there were hours and hours and days and weeks and months of detail put into this wedding.
She wore her mothers wedding dress… but not the 80s version with poufy sleeves. She wore the altered, laid back elegant version that a seamstress helped bring to life. It was stunning and she wore it so well. Oh and the gold, silvery, and blue details all over… some of my very favorite colors coming to life! In fact, we almost made our new branding those exact colors!
Carl is a classy guy. He writes love notes, looks sharp with his bowtie, and when it came to the first dance he led her with grace.
First looks are pretty amazing, and for a December wedding, it’s super helpful because sunset is around 4:50pm!
The bride’s sister and maid of honor played a huge role in this wedding. You’ll see more at the reception, but she basically rocked every possible sisterly-maid-of-honor duty possible. Here, she’s reading the memory album she made for Brittany. It’s full of sweet poems and memories and pictures from their lives. The ceremony was right up the road, but in a totally different state– Delaware!Brittany shared a sweet story about their transportation for the day. They have a favorite taxi driver, and when she started to think about their wedding day travels, she couldn’t think of anything more perfect than their favorite guy! I love it. It’s just one of many things that make Brittany + Carl awesome.
Are you ready for this reception? Really ready? Because the bride’s sister completely outdid herself (with help from others, of course). Brittany + Carl love love love to travel, and their reception was themed around it. They were surrounded by hundreds of friends who all laughed together, danced the night away, made s’mores, enjoyed a photo booth, and all around had a fantastic time. The signs at their reception were just amazing. As far as I know, Brittany’s sister created them all! If you’ve ever tried to create something like this, you can truly appreciate the incredible time and talent it takes to do each one. I was blown away!Stop the press. This popcorn is off the chain. Fisher’s Popcorn wasn’t kidding… their popcorn really does just taste better! And you can order it online here.Who says you have to have an outdoor barn wedding to have s’mores? This was the perfect set-up to have s’mores in a hotel ballroom! The food… oh my word… delicious.Often people ask, “How many pictures do you take? How many do you deliver?” and my answer is that it depends on your wedding, your guests, what you have going on, etc. And at this reception there was a ton going on!
^^Do you see that? It’s a guy making mozzarella. I can’t possibly describe to you how mesmerizing and delicious this was. Ladies and gents, if you ever have this as an option at an event you’re having catered, do it. Ahhhh toasts. Goodness, where to begin? We covered video for this wedding as well and the toasts were some of the best we’ve ever heard… and we’ve heard some pretty amazing toasts! They were well thought out and from the heart. And then the first dance. Beautiful, choreographed, and one of those moments where everyone in the room just stopped and stared at them floating along the dance floor. These two had a killer photo booth going on! Couples often ask us about photo booths and if we offer them. While it seems like it would go hand in hand with the photographer, it’s a totally different animal! There are printers and tv screens and software and oodles of fun props and backdrops, and these guys were fantastic! We’re in love with the Maryland cutout guest book from Grace Graffiti!
