Katie + Matt are one of those couples that you instantly fall in love with.  After we posted their engagement session pictures from Fort Monroe, the comments poured in.  Over and over again we heard that their joy just shined through the pictures!  It made me smile because that’s always our goal in sessions!

They chose Matt’s parents backyard as their ceremony + reception location, and it was perfect!   It’s tucked away in Cobbs Creek, VA and they have a great sized backyard and steps leading down to a beach area and a dock.  The kids waited patiently for pictures to be done, then switched into swimsuits and played in the water the rest of the afternoon.  Everything was relaxed and fun.  Oh, and it was blazing hot!  It was exactly what you imagine for a June wedding.  Not a cloud in the clear blue sky, and a nice breeze every now and then. There wasn’t even a threat of rain, which is a nice change of pace from the weekends we’ve had lately!

I love the little details, how kind they are to each other, and how their kids get along so well.  It was a wonderful day.
