Remember Hurricane Joaquin way back at the beginning of October?  This session was yet another victim to the rain!  Half of this family lives out of town, though, so this was the first chance we had to reschedule, and we went for a sunrise session!  It’s no secret that the Lions Bridge at the Noland Trail (near The Mariners Museum!) is one of the best spots on the peninsula to watch an amazing sunset, but it was also absolutely stunning for sunrise!  I love the cool mornings as the sun is rising and then how it peeks through the golden trees in autumn.  Seriously, it doesn’t get much better when you’re hoping for colorful leaves!

Also?  Mad props to any family doing a sunrise session.  Most people spend half their day getting ready for a photo session, and when you have a sunrise session that means waking up wayyyyy early.  These guys look bright eyed and gorgeous and I’m oh so thankful they were able to work this into their schedules!

You might recognize them from Mitchell + Morgan’s wedding film last year!  They just celebrated their first anniversary this summer.  Also, their whole family is taking classes from Liberty University so we thought it would be fun to incorporate some of their text books into the session since they feel like that’s all they’re doing lately!
