Sarah + Ryan | Kitty Hawk Pier Mint + Navy Wedding | Outer Banks, North Carolina

Sarah + Ryan planned a relaxed beach wedding, but they never could have planned for the odd weather pattern that came their way. Not only was it cold and super windy, but the water level was at high tide all day. There wasn’t enough beach above water to have a ceremony! But they made the best of it and had a ball in the Kitty Hawk Pier House at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kitty Hawk! The staff was wonderful, their band Love Tribe was off the chain, and their family and friends celebrated in style. It was relaxed, it was fun, and it was all about celebrating the love that brought them together.

I love how Sarah used classy details to bring the wedding together. Navy blue dresses for the bridesmaids and jackets for the groomsmen, mixed with the stunning mint for the guys’ ties were perfect. Add in a few starfish details and some sweet memories from her grandparents on her bouquet, and Sarah had all the perfect touches!

I’ll tell you, we battled strong winds all day. Everyone was freezing, especially the bride and bridesmaids! You can see their dresses flying in the wind in most every picture! Most our plans for photo locations fell through because they were either underwater or the winds were simply too high. There are a series of pictures where the wind was blowing so strong I couldn’t even keep my camera at a straight angle! But everyone kept an incredible attitude and it really made the whole day relaxed and fun. Thank you Sarah + Ryan for having me at your wedding!!
