Ali + Nathan had an incredible wedding filled with a lot of love. Upper Shirley Vineyards made for an incredible backdrop to their day, with portraits all over the property, and one stunning ceremony and reception. They didn’t miss a single detail! The details in shades of purple were gorgeous, from Ali’s incredible bouquet to their breathtaking reception space.  Their love was so apparent, as was the love of their family and friends for them.  You’ll see in the pictures that Ali had such a sweet moment with her father for a first look, which is one of our favorite things that a bride can do.  It really makes that moment that a father sees his daughter for the first time even more special and not rushed.  Ali’s father’s reaction so emotional and heartwarming.  There were a lot of sweet moments like that, like Ali wearing her great aunt’s rings and mom’s jewelry the day of the wedding, or using the same toasting flutes that her mom and dad used on their own wedding day.  Even the bridesmaids robes were purchased while Ali was in Vietnam while visiting her cousin.

These two have quite the love story.  Having met when they were freshman at James Madison University (they lived on the same hall!), and sharing some of the same classes, they ended up “studying” together.  This turned into watching the History Channel and Pawn Stars instead of studying.  Ali says that she knew that Nathan was the one for her when he met all of her best friends at a lunch at Cheeseburger in Paradise after just a few months of dating.  They got engaged in Charleston with their families watching, and it was a moment that they’ll never forget.
