I don’t know that we’ve ever put this many pictures into one blog post before, but there’s a first time for everything! Lindsey + Jamie’s wedding was beautiful and perfect in all the right ways. They joked, they laughed, and they were ridiculously happy the entire time. When writing this, I almost forgot that it poured the rain and they had to move their ceremony inside because they didn’t bat an eye. Instead, they just laughed. Jamie even mentioned in his vows how they had the worst luck as he motioned outside to the torrential downpour. The room roared in laughter!
One of the other awesome aspects of their wedding was that the itinerary was reversed! Guests arrived to a cocktail hour in Miller Hall with a grand entrance from the bride and groom. After cocktails, everyone headed upstairs for a relaxing dinner. After a hilarious toast, guests were led down to the amphitheater at Lake Matoaka by the fife and drum, and then led right back inside because of the rain! After a cozy indoor ceremony (they can forever say they got married in a hallway), everyone headed upstairs for desserts and they danced the night away!
What struck me the most about their self-described reverse wedding was that they got to spend an incredible amount of time with their guests. All too often brides are so consumed with getting through the crazy wedding day schedule that they don’t get to truly enjoy time with their guests. Lindsey & Jamie spent the time earlier in the day getting ready and taking pictures so that once their guests arrived they were all about having fun and enjoying their company. Their guests really appreciated it! We had left a little time for some sunset pictures, but since it was pouring the rain, we just skipped that portion and certainly weren’t lacking in any photos!
